I operate with CEOs and Boards, as well as with high potentials and stalled executives. An additional focus is Professional Services Firms with partnership tracks. I am a Chartered Occupational Psychologist who spent the last 20 years consulting with Hay Group. I was part of the UK management team for 5 years, so beyond my specialist expertise, I understand the complexities, stresses and rewards in running a business profitably. I am also connected to a wide group of independent colleagues and expert associates, enabling me to rapidly resource larger work packages with quality experts.

Expertise, Talent, Performance & Learning Director - UK Management Team
-
Apr 2010 - Dec 2014
As one of five Management Team members, I had several operational roles as well as being jointly responsible for the profitability of the UK business, circa £38m pa and 350 employees. This followed the 2008/09 crisis, during which time we managed margin back in through new employment contracts, changing our client focus, sales and utilisation targets. We also set up an associate network to keep delivery costs down. Such actions kept us profitable and we were able re-grow. On moving to my global role, Hay Group UK had its’ most profitable year ever.1. Delivered a new performance management system designed to create more collaborative, joined-up client working2. Created a new high potentials program with Cass Business School, aimed at selling business solutions, not expertise3. Enhanced consultant recruitment & talent processes, resolving performance issues with ‘stuck / difficult’ directors 4. Created new career pathways and gateway promotion policies to manage ‘pay creep’ and encourage voluntary exits 5. Functional responsibility for 4 Expertise Leaders: Reward, Leadership & Talent, Work Measurement, and OE 6. Accountable for the selection, development, and profitability of the Talent Pool - 25 consultants via three managers
