Established a world-class metrology / topography lab at KPM using WYKO NT2000 profilometer (3D non-contact interferometer-based) and Nanovea PS50 profilometer (3D chromatic confocal), providing technical support for internal projects and external clients (including Novelis, General Cable, Alcereco, Queen’s University). Specialist in using Vision software and Mountains Map software for topography analysis, interpretation and reporting of results.Responsible for general microscopy and image analysis at KPM using Leica DM750P microscope and EZ4HD stereoscope providing particle count, phase analysis and general imaging in support of internal projects, including reporting of results.Responsible for the install, implementation and operation of a scanning electron microscope (SEM) at KPM to provide technical support for internal/external projects, including reporting of results. Capabilities of the SEM include secondary and backscatter electron imaging, x-ray mapping and EDS.Perform equipment and instrumentation maintenance, operation, calibration, and troubleshooting, to ensure all equipment works to standards.Other duties include preparing and maintaining experimental setups and laboratory equipment, performing test runs and preparing samples for analysis.Responsible for training and evaluating new staff on safety/lab procedures.

Supported our operating facilities with timely completion of various testing procedures for production release while simultaneously responding to the demands of project workEstablished a world-class metrology / topography lab at Alcan / Novelis with the purchase of state-of-the-art equipment, and through the transfer of knowledge / technology to our operating facilities worldwide (Canada, Europe, and United States) by giving presentations and training employees.Developed methods to characterize different surfaces including metals (autosheet, can body sheet, foil, treadplate, brushed finished sheet, etc.), plastics, coatings, and paper.Experienced in use of WYKO NT3300 and NT2000 profilometers (3D non-contact interferometer-based), Solarius LaserScan profilometer (2D/3D confocal/triangulation sensors), Mahr Perthometer roughness and contour (stylus based benchtop systems) and portable Mahr M300, M2, M3 and M4Pi (stylus based), and Atomic Force Microscope (DI MultiMode). Also familiar with Nanofocus portable µsurf areal confocal 3D measurement system. Experienced in the use of all accompanying software for interpretation and data analysis.Set-up the topography lab for accreditation of ISO 17025, including writing work instructions, developing Repeatability & Reproducibility studies, calibration procedures, and standard operating practices while maintaining the accreditation since 2000.Consistently met the time frames of daily work, while providing technical support to several clients and Research Scientists at the Kingston Labs. Performed equipment and instrumentation maintenance, operation, calibration, and troubleshooting, to ensure all equipment worked to standards.Maintained current documentation of work, records of experimental procedures and data collection with accuracy
