Programs and Grants Manager, Clinical Programs
-
Sep 2016 - Present
As Program and Grants Manager in the Clinical Programs department, I am responsible for managing several grants and program areas as well as helping to identify and secure new grant opportunities. In addition to the grant described below, I am managing a project focused on providing more patient-focused care to elderly patients with multiple conditions and will also be involved in projects about physician burnout and high value care. This is a very transformative time in the healthcare arena and it is exciting to be working on such relevant issues.

Grant Administrator - TCPI Support and Alignment Network Grant
-
Dec 2015 - Present
I am managing a new Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) grant called the Transforming Clinical Practice Initiative (TCPi). The purpose of this large national effort is to help medical practices large and small, urban and rural, primary or specialty care, transform care to align with new payment models that will become law in 2019. These models stress outcomes and value over quantity. It's a big shift and, while some practices are well underway, many haven't even begun to fathom how they will succeed in the new environment. Our role at the American College of Physicians is to help recruit practices into what are called Practice Transformation Networks and to help support the PTNs with educational tools and resources focused on practice transformation, a topic in which ACP has already been a leader. It is an exciting grant and challenging position, calling upon my administrative, management, planning, analytical and people skills.....and a few more to boot.
