    Senior IP Commercialisation Business Manager within the University's central IP Commercialisation Team. I support the Faculty of Science and Engineering and am responsible for the successful delivery of commercialisation of University intellectual property (IP) arising from its research base including spin-out companies and licensing.Responsible for IP commercialisation from initial invention disclosure through to spin-out/licensing for the School of Engineering (Department of Mechanical, Materials and Aerospace, and Department of Civil Engineering and Industrial Design) and the Department of Physics (within the School of Physical Sciences).     Impact and Business Development Manager, within the University's central Research and Partnership Development team. I support the Faculty of Science and Engineering to successfully develop strategic partnerships, deliver research collaborations with industry and generate social, environmental and economic impact.I drive the delivery of the University of Liverpool’s Partnership Strategy, connecting the University’s strategic research Themes and academics to external companies and partners, to build relationships, secure funding and drive Knowledge Exchange and Impact. Key examples include strategic partnership development with Unilever and NSG Group.I have an excellent understanding of the collaborative and funding landscape and utilize my academic and industry background to generate research & development, partnerships and impact including via sector mapping and Business Intelligence activity. In addition to the above role I was selected to undertake the following part-time secondments in support of Faculty strategic aims:• Jan - April 2021: Business Development Manager, Materials Innovation Factory (MIF). The MIF is home to one of the highest-concentrations of materials science robotics in the world, to flexibly scale R&D activity in an environment that’s purpose-built for materials innovation. A collaboration between the University of Liverpool and Unilever, MIF allows businesses involved in materials chemistry to accelerate product development and gain competitive advantage through smarter, faster and more precise ways of working;• Nov 2018 - August 2019: Impact Officer, Faculty of Science and Engineering, to embed impact culture and lead peer review for impact case studies incl for REF 2021.

    Chartered Geotechnical Engineer, Ground Engineering Team, Arup Leeds Office. My wide ranging experience extends across: expert witness forensic analysis, transport, energy and resources, waste, environment and buildings, with example projects such as: landslides, railway tunnelling, basements, highways, wind farms, mining, landfills, wastewater, flood defences, residential and commercial developments. I worked abroad, in Madrid, and across the UK, undertaking roles based in the office and on site. I worked as part of wider project teams, coordinating across various engineering disciplines, with contractors, clients and third parties in the successful delivery of complex private and public sector projects. I developed skills in: geotechnical design and construction; site supervision; quality, commercial and risk management; health and safety; contract administration; contract documentation preparation; geotechnical and geo-environmental reporting; stakeholder engagement.Over the last three years I significantly contributed to the major substructure design development and construction phases of The Londoner Hotel, Leicester Square, London. The project involves the redevelopment of the existing Odeon cinema block and construction of new nine-storey hotel with six level basement to 32m depth and piled raft. My key areas of responsibility have included the permanent design of the basement and piled raft, assessment of ground movement, preparation of contract documentation to RIBA Stage E, asset protection as Instrumentation and Monitoring Engineer during construction, and Resident Engineer during bearing pile construction for the piled raft.My work on soil-structure interaction was supported by my experience based on site at Crossrail Farringdon Station (2013-14) in my role as Asset Protection Engineer in joint client/contractor offices for 18 months during major tunnelling operations (TBM drives & platform enlargements), station box excavations and TAM grouting.
