    Charles worked with the Technical department at Golden Bay Cement which is a subsidiary company Fletcher Building. He managed a research project investigating the use of a green star rated supplementary cementitious material (SCM) for use in the concrete industry. Charles tested the SCM on batches of concrete and measuring the compressive strength of concrete cylinders according to various time periods.
