In my early career I worked for a variety of companies. I started working for Dealership Programming with Dr. Don Brown and Joe Adams in 1984 as a programmer and Computer/Network Support specialist. I was responsible for assisting in the programming & development of the F&I system & calculation modules. I also installed & supported computer systems, network systems, servers, customized systems for customers nationwide. We installed, maintained and supported F&I systems for car and boat dealers from Florida to New Jersey, to Southern California. Dealership Programming became AFR (American Financial Resources) and was sold to EDS/GMAC in 1987. I continued working with AFR/EDS to provide development support & training for EDS employees. In March of 1988 I went to work with Donald R Gray, who was a co-owner of AFR, at METS (Mobile Electronic Tracking Systems). METS provided vehicle tracking systems for the mass transit and trucking industry. I continued as a programming and development specialist, installation and support of all computer systems & networks, field installations and testing of radio equipment. I also provided support for writing bids, statement of work, contracts and proposals for our customers. METS began negotiations to be sold to Ameritech Mobile in Chicago in 1991. I then went to work for a federal contractor/consulting company, RCF Information Systems who provided IT support for the US Customs service in Indianapolis. I provided all hardware/software installations, maintenance, setup, testing, training, and technical support for all end-user PC’s & related equipment on the internal networks. I also provided applications development and maintenance, end-user support and training, mainframe & communications support. From there I went to work for a large printing company as a Network/PC Support Manager and continued providing the same IT services that I have always provided. I left this company to go to work at Anthem, Inc. in 1993.
