    • Responsible for Designing the Womenswear; Woven Tops & Jumpsuits for: Superbalist / Edit /Velvet / Milla Private label brands.• Work on the seasonal “Flows” / storyboards for each brand as a Team.• Interpret overseas trends for the Superbalist and South African market.• Search for Key Items in my particular category online that can work into the “Flows”/Brand & commercial market.• Present Key Items & then the best is selected & broken down.• Responsible for all the Tech packs/CADs for the above Categories.• I am pedantic with my Tech packs/ CADs & ensure all the necessary information is added inorder for costing & fit to be as perfect as possible & where I am not certain; I always ask questions!• Approve & brief out Print artwork & Embroidery.• Fit garments with the Buyer & Garment Tech & give my design input.• Work with Import & Local suppliers.• Approve Fabrics & Trims as per the suitability of the design with my buyer.• Approve Fabric & trim colours as per the sales / flows / suitability of design with my buyer.

    - retrenched! - Research online trends suitable for the South African market.- Design for kids wear (girls ages 2-8 & 8-16yrs) and Ladieswear private label as well as ladies Plus Size. - Source stock fabrics- Source trims - See everything through from concept all the way through to pre production. - Manage pattern makers and sample machinist designated to my areas. - Time management is key- Internal fitting of garments with the relevant pattern maker to ensure design protocol is being followed, quality and fit is up to standard. - Ensure all necessary comments are relayed to the pattern maker of what alterations is required in order for next fit to be seal approved. - Ensure garments are in order for "seal approval" -CAD work.- Tech Packs with all essential information.

    • Designing on trend garments that fit the Truworths profile• Responsible for the Emily Moon, Essence, Glamour, Dresses,Truworths Collection, Relaxed Career, Smart Leisure, LTD and Coats accounts.Brought in the LTD, Max & Mia Kids wear accounts which was a big success!• Interpret overseas trends for the Truworths and South African market• Confer with buyers in order to discuss design briefs and ideas• Direct and co-ordinate employees involved in pattern making, constructingand finishing garments to ensure design protocol is being followed• Ensure fits are up to Truworths standards to send in for fit and showing• Source all trims as per the suitability of the design• Source Fabrics as per the suitability of the design and choice of the client• Negotiate with the suppliers of trims and fabric• See garments through from start straight through to production• Sort out any Production Problems• Started being taught the basics on how to rate & cost a garment

    I was chosen out of thousands of candidates as an emerging creative to showcase my 3rd year portfolio and work. I sold all of my garments which I sewed by hand, created and costed. I had to develop my own stall where my body of work was showcased to the public.
