Having created several businesses and brands in different industry areas myself, and with a history in corporate employment and consulting, I understand the issues facing both entrepreneur led and start up businesses, as well as those at the other end of the spectrum. With a particular understanding of brand and marketing issues, I have first hand experience of managing budgets and operational issues, and of the critical need to create alignment and 'onboarding' when there are multiple parties involved in bringing a new project/work stream to fruition.

    Baked&Wired encompasses three elements, including a consulting service for new product and menu development, a specialist bakery producing a variety of sweet and savoury baked goods that are gluten free/grain free goods, sugar free, protein boosted etc and then lastly a catering service. We strive to keep our food 'clean', using as much organic content as we can, no preservatives etc. We supply other retailers, corporates and private individuals.

    I owned and managed gingko which was a whole foods, organic oriented restaurant, caterer and deli in Johannesburg. This entrepreneurial adventure involved developing menus and product lines, managing the day to day operations of the business, and driving the marketing activities.

    Ethos Communications was a brand management and marketing communications consultancy. Working with other creative and media specialists, ethos provided clients with marketing and communications strategy as well as actual communications plans and materials across all major media. I handled a fair amount of copywriting myself in the process. Clients included Spier, iafrica.com, Global 1, Proudly South Africa and several large agencies including TBWA and Ogilvy CT.
