Flambunctious was the business name I was operating under since 2010 doing graphic design, wedding/event stationery and decor. I have now decided to move all design services under the Xprint & Design name, while leaving more hands on creative work (like stationery and decor) under this name.I have enjoyed working for more varied clients during this time in addition to the mining/resource projects. Clients such as Helioscreen in Sydney who manufacture high-end motorised blinds and awnings; industrial and commercial equipment suppliers, asbestos removal specialists, tilers, Expos, printers and boutique small businesses.I also branched into product photography for many of these clients and ended up doing the design, layout and photography for an 124 page book on card making called Paper Simply Paper.

In December 2000 after working in-house as a designer at Stanwell Corporation, I began operating as a freelancer under the name of Greenpond. I continued to work with Stanwell on their renewable energy brand Elemental Power. Terra-Scene Graphics was also a supplier to Stanwell Corporation, for technical illustrations, design and printing. We decided to join forces to offer Stanwell a 'one-stop-shop' and created GreenpondTSG, which grew into a design agency with 10 staff. Our main focus was mining and resource industries and renewable energy education materials and have included major clients such as Energex, Stanwell, Origin Energy, and BHP Billiton to name a few. In 2005 I decided to branch out on my own and created Apatite Creative, however I continued to contract back to GreenpondTSG for their mining and resource client projects until mid 2013 for clients such as Enertrade, ADV Group, Renison and Waratah Coal.

Various administrative & design roles

During my time at Attorney-General's Department I had interesting and varied roles. I began in Construction & Property Management doing admin tasks and became one of the first users of the new fandangle AutoCAD software. It was very complicated back then and shunned by the technical drafters who preferred to use pencil and paper. I eagerly stepped up for the challenge to figure it out and there my interest in graphics was born. I eventually transferred to the Lionel Murphy Library (the largest Law Library in the Southern Hemisphere) in 1992 and began redesigning their forms and newsletters as well as the usual library assistant tasks. In early 1993 gained an promotion to the International Legal Services Advisory Council, where I researched and designed legal and economic profiles for 13 counties. I also worked on some more substantial publication designs in that role, which led me to be poached by the Office of Legal Information and Publishing in early 1994 where began working in a graphic design role, publishing departmental newsletters, periodicals and fact sheets. I also assisted in writing tender responses that won over $20 million in legal work for the department. I continued to work in this role until leaving to complete the remainder of my degree full time in 1998.I will always be fond of my time in Office of Legal Information and Publishing and especially John Waugh (my supervisor and mentor), for it is this role that really shaped my future as a graphic designer.
