    The National Marine Lenders Association (NMLA) was formed in 1979 by founding directors Bill Otto, Jackie Forese, and the late Don Mattocks. It was created, and continues today, to educate current and prospective lenders in marine financing procedures, promote the extension of credit to consumer and trade borrowers, maintain alliances with industry partners, measure and report on the vitality of the marine lending market, and actively maintain networking and communication benefits for its members.

    The International Association of Marine Investigators mission: To develop and provide high levels of training to law enforcement, insurance investigators, and other marine professionals. Working and training together with both public and private sectors, to combat marine theft, arson, fraud, and other criminal activity in the marine environment.

  National Boating Safety Advisory Committee (NBSAC)

    The NBSAC was established on December 4, 2018, by § 601 of the Frank LoBiondo Coast Guard Authorization Act of 2018, Pub. L. No. 115-282, 132 Stat. 4192 and amended by § 8331 of the Elijah E. Cummings Coast Guard Authorization Act of 2020, Pub. L. No. 116-283. That authority is codified in 46 U.S.C. § 15105. The NBSAC members are selected from disciplines within the following fields of expertise: State Boating Safety Programs, Recreational Vessel and Associated Equipment Manufacturers; and National Recreational Boating Organizations and the General Public. The new NBSAC members serve three-year terms on the Committee and provide advice and recommendations on matters relating to recreational boating safety to the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security through the Coast Guard Commandant and the Assistant Commandant for Prevention Policy.

    Vice Chair for the Vessel Identification, Registration, and Titling Committee under NASBLA. Recognizing that accurate vessel information is the backbone of recreational boating safety data, the Vessel Identification, Reporting & Titling Committee will work to advance boating safety by analyzing and advocating for thorough and precise vessel identification throughout a vessel's chain of ownership from the hull numbering to registration to titling.
