New York, NY For Outreach & Admissions This is a managerial level position whereby I am responsible for determining referred patient’s clinical eligibility and medical necessity for acute in-patient rehabilitation at NYU’s Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation. I review medical charts, interview disabled patients and their families, contact physicians, nurses, and case managers daily in order to accept or deny admission to acute rehabilitation. Newly disabled or chronically disabled children and adults are referred to Rusk Rehabilitation. When accepted for admission I provide the written medical documentation to support the need for an acute rehabilitation stay at Rusk. I participate in marketing daily and in development and updating of department procedures. I have presented staff inservices and training regularly to my department. I also have been a committee member for community health outreach for the medical center.
