    In this role I was responsible for overseeing and managing all project engineering for capital investment programmes across vessel drydocks, upgrades and retrofits including liaising with the project manager and operations team. I managed the end-to-end engineering and technical design throughout the development and execution phase of projects in line with agreed specifications and standards. I deputised for the project manager on a regular basis and ensuring projects remained on time, within budget, and aligned to technical specifications and quality standards.I ensured all engineering designs were fully scoped and prepared prior to the tender process and managing the tender evaluation for engineering aspects prior to contract award. I undertook technical audits of suppliers throughout the tender and construction phase covering full engineering works, scopes and modifications. I conducted quality inspections during the execution phase of projects alongside colleagues to ensure compliance with agreed standards at critical stages of the project to avoid quality, cost, or schedule issues. I developed functional and technical specifications for projects as well as prepared and presented business cases to senior management.I also managed engineering risks with colleagues and contractors covering design acceptance, modification, quality, and the completion of works in line with the as-built status. I promoted a safety first approach at all times across the project and ensured processes, procedures and industry best practice were adhered to accordingly.     In this role I oversaw, managed and coordinated engineering maintenance and inspections in line with technical specifications and standards. I led a team to undertake maintenance activities covering ordering of parts, completion of works, and recording all maintenance works on systems and associated documentation. I ensured all engineering inspection and maintenance works were completed across the generators, fuel injection equipment, main engine crankcase (bearing inspections and crankshaft deflections), hydraulic machinery and remote valve systems. I managed stock control and ordering of parts and components in line with the maintenance schedule and stock levels including compliance with engineering standards and technical manuals.I was the Safety Officer onboard to undertake safety area inspections in line with company policies, procedures, and international standards. I supported the preparation and rollout of safety training onboard including promoting safety initiatives, compliance, and risk management practices including effective use of PTW and Risk Assessment systems. I undertook various tasks covering risk assessment reviews, safety management system compliance reviews and other senior ranking activities.

I also supported the training for junior engineers and cadets.
