    In my role as Director of Programs and Operations I work to ensure that our programs and grant making portfolio fulfill North Carolina Humanities' mission, compliance objectives, and accountability as a nonprofit organization. I am responsible for leading our grant making program, serving as a liaison to prospective applicants, grantees, and building relationships with our program partners. I serve as the lead on NC Humanities data management for internal reporting and state/federal/foundation grant management and compliance. I support operations of NC Humanities by monitoring and managing to key performance indicators that reflect the organization’s success.

    In my role as Program and Grants Manager I manage five statewide programs and three grant programs overseeing program logistics, managing relationships with program sponsors and analyzing and reporting on program data to ensure the highest quality of public humanities programing. I coordinate programs with our national and state partners to ensure that access to critical cultural programing is available to our constituents. In this role I am also responsible for internal and external reporting. I serve as the lead for our NEH Compliance Reporting, quarterly program board reports and Federal Financial Reports.I have successfully overseen the transition to a from a paper to online new grants management system and revisions to our Raiser's Edge database to streamline data management throughout the organization.     I worked in both a summer and weekend staff capacity at the Camp Harrison Dude Ranch. I gained skills in team building from working with a diverse group of co-workers and in organization and presentation by instructing both adults and children in environmental education programs. I was responsible for managing both adults and children on horseback rides of the property as well as in basic instruction of riding skills and environmental education. During their summer program was also responsible for managing 12-18 teenage girls.

    The goal of project BAILE is to understand how immigrant diversity affects language and culture in the High Country of North Carolina, with a specific focus on Hispanic immigration.- Conducted and transcribed interviews with Hispanic immigrants, their employers and ‘locals’- Completed field observations of interactions between ‘locals’ and immigrants and the cultural impact of immigrants through futból games, the Hispanic women’s group and local churches.- Analyzed data using Atlas, as well as library methodology.
