This role is intersectional, influential and systems focused. This is perfect, as I see the world as a big messy web of interconnected systems that are inseparable from each other, and shape our day to day and life outcomes. When a bit of the web moves the whole network feels it, and I am curious about which bits of the web we can rework or evolve to do the best mahi we can. In brief, the role exists to ensure consistent quality assurance support.I am focusing on a few key areasInternal audits Policy reviewsWhānau EngagementBest Practice SystemsTrainingService User Engagement DevelopmentYouth representation

Peer Support service design, coordination, and delivery for 10-18 year olds who have parents that experience mental distress or addiction. This role involved community wide whānau mental health promotion and workforce training delivery for DHB, NGOS and MOE services. I am proud of this work. It pulled all parts of the community together to create a service that worked for young people and their whānau. We explored, listened, and researched together to design, deliver, and evaluate best practice. Close to my heart, we create a support system that gives young people and their whānau a platform to share their experiences and access supports they hope for.

With guidance from Anthropologist Dr Patricia Laing, I led an ethnographic research project using data from the HNZC's Housing Pathways Longitudinal Study. Using discourse and thematic analysis I looked for lived experience patterns, and found shared trends of single mother's hopes and dreams for their futures.
