- Increased the prominence of methane mitigation opportunities and EPA voluntary programs to key domestic and international stakeholders by building partnerships with state and local governments, companies, and NGOs to catalyze actions by developing dozens of technical and outreach materials, publishing numerous articles and increasing media exposure for EPA and stakeholders, and conducting presentations at 50+ technical conferences and training workshops.- Provided technical and outreach assistance that contributed to the development of 50 landfill gas energy projects in the United States (>150 MWs of green power). - Conducted site visits, data collection and analysis, and site-specific assessments and preliminary feasibility studies at more than 40 landfills in nine countries. Presented results and recommendations to stakeholders (investors, developers, vendors, managers, operators) to attract project investment.- Helped create and launch the Methane to Markets Partnership (now the Global Methane Initiative) and served as a founding U.S. Government (USG) delegate with primary responsibility for leading the USG’s efforts to reduce waste management methane emissions by facilitating mitigation and abatement measures internationally.- Led corporate outreach and technical support to Fortune 500 companies, including Walmart, PepsiCo, Interface, Google and Apple to assess options for using biogas to reduce their carbon footprint.- Served as subject matter expert on various compliance and voluntary GHG protocols and methodologies including the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, California Climate Action Registry (now Climate Action Reserve), and Voluntary Carbon Standard (now Verra).- Organized and conducted over a dozen state and regional workshops domestically; and over twelve capacity building and technology transfer workshops in 10 countries.- Developed, evaluated, and implemented 6+ multiple-year contracts and 10 grants totaling more than $14 million.
