Network administrator/Core Services. Active Directory, Group Policy, VMWARE, Exchange, Citrix, Xenmobile, NetScaler. Windows servers 2000-2016 (physical/virtual), Switches, SAN management LeftHand, Pure, EMC; I have touched about everything and probably master of none. I never know what will be at my desk the minute I walk in the door, quit making "to-do" lists years ago because they seemed to grow and never shrink. Love troubleshooting or trying to determine the "why".... Work toward the goals, love the details and reading between the lines. Started out years ago as a developer (Cobol, Natural) but networking was new (started with Banyan Vines) and my "how does it work" nature led me to the network side...and I've never been bored.I started before "pc's" were in offices (it was a handful of terminals connected to a Honeywell Bull System all connected to our regions via modems 4800bps, they were the speedy connections) The internet wasn't available and to reach someone required sending an actual letter or picking up a phone; today everyone has multiple devices, email, messaging; being connected is required and immediate answers are expected... to troubleshoot required reading and experimenting; Google was not available....but bulletin boards could be found and then Mosaic/WebCrawler came around and the information and deadlines went faster.I remember teaching the secretaries how to use a word processor and Solitaire was a training tool. From dot matrix printers (and aligning the holes) to the awe of laser printers...we went "paperless" and printed everything.. and today we carry it in our phone. It's a job where you never quit learning; there is always something new and changes are constantly happening. It's not slowing down... and I still love it after all these years.

Worked as a developer/systems analyst for Department of Administration - main assignment was with the Bureau of Supplies and Federal Surplus Property (DataPoint/Databus). IDPR (only IT staff position at time) programming, system administration, backup, operations, etc (WANG)., Department of Labor on the IBM mainframe dealing with Unemployment Tax system (COBOL). The good old days - I had a monitor that I could change pixels: from green to white to amber with different colored backgrounds and I thought I had it made...the before Windows days....when management asked for a report and they would wait a week for the results....and then we printed it on green and white striped paper...
