Implemented an innovative Strategic Campaign Plan to streamline processes, reduce organizational overhead and achieve vertical and horizontal cross-functional collaboration.

    Strategic, operational, and tactical level training and assistance. Managed a multi-billion dollar program through the U.S. State Department and worked closely with the Government of Iraq and other regional partners. Led the U.S. effort to build Iraqi Security Force capacity through Foreign Military Sales, Ministerial Security Sector Reform, and operational and tactical level training programs. Successfully advised and supported the Government of Iraq during the defeat of the ISIS caliphate in Iraq.

  • Commander, Military District of Washington and Joint Task Force National Capital Region - MG

    National Security and strategic-level ceremonial operations. Responsible for security of Strategic-level assets and ceremonial support. As the Commanding General for the Military District of Washington and the Commander of the Joint Task Force, National Capital Region, served as the Department of Defense representative to the President of the United States for all ceremonies. Successfully led the 2017 Presidential Inauguration, seven State Arrivals, and eleven National Special Security Events, to include the Pope Francis visit and a Nuclear Security Summit. Worked closely with the Department of Homeland Security, Secret Service, FBI, Capitol Police, Metropolitan Police and other agencies as the Department of Defense commander responsible for security of the National Capital Region.

    Headquarters and tactical training oversight. Commanded the Army’s largest Initial Entry Training Center with the principal duty to execute Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training for more than 60,000 soldiers annually. Implemented innovative training techniques in accordance with the Adult Learning Model to improve the effectiveness of the training. Streamlined the headquarters staff 25% by implementing cross-functional teams, improved both efficiency and effectiveness.

As the Deputy Commanding General for the 25th Infantry Division, prepared the Division Headquarters for deployment to Iraq where we successfully trained the Iraqi security forces and Iraqi operational headquarters to assume the lead for security in Iraq. Transitioned to the U.S. State Department all U.S. Support to the Government of Iraq.

    Advised the Commander of the US Forces-Iraq (USF-I) on policy regarding the strategic partnership between the Government of Iraq and the U.S. Government. Worked closely with the State Department and the Government of Iraq on government formation following the 2009 Iraqi elections.
