      As the Program Manager for the Virginia Tech Center for Design Research, Bobby is in charge of all projects through the Center. His involvement during his undergraduate career has led him to return to Virginia Tech to teach within the School of Architecture + Design while continuing his research into prefabrication and intelligent infrastructure.In November of 2018, FutureHAUS Dubai won first place in the inaugural Solar Decathlon Middle East competition held in Dubai, UAE as the only United States entrant. Bobby was responsible for the coordination of the design, fabrication, and assembly of the project as well as the logistics of shipping the project, developing an AR and VR model of the project and managing the team. He was a part of the marketing and fundraising campaign raising over 2.5 million USD for the project.After Dubai, FutureHAUS was displayed as the Design Pavilion NYC during New York City’s Design Week in Times Square, New York attracting over 100,000 visitors over 2 weeks. Throughout the summer of 2019, FutureHAUS was on display in Alexandria, VA at the site of the new Virginia Tech Innovation Campus.Parallel research projects include a Disaster Relief prototype for FEMA and HUD, hospitality and healthcare applications, and urban scale developments utilizing the modular cartridge concept. At Virginia Tech, he helps lead the Digital Mentors Collaborative Organization (DMCO), which is a student-led group introducing and reinforcing the implementation of digital methods for design and fabrication.
