Later took on additional responsibilities of leading the company's PMO office, the Quality & Safety program, the Procurement and Contracts group, the cell site Warranty and Maintenance group, as well as providing program leadership for the ETTCS and LTE initiatives.

During that time, many successful consulting projects were also completed. These including being a Senior Consultant for the Chinese company Huawei Technologies, developing their core network design and building their engineering team for the Cox Communications wireless buildout.

Planned and drove the program to integrate the Cingular MSC network and the former AT&T Wireless MSC network. Major challenges were merging divergent switching philosophies of the two companies, ensuring enough ports were available for the over all network integration, supporting UMTS launches, and developing detailed transition plans. Also drove program to install over 80 R4 softswitch platforms, gateway switches in 10 major markets, nationwide Sigtran IP SS7 conversations, and ATCA switch modernizations. Managed a staff of approximately 70 people, capital budget of approximately $500M annually. Retired from AT&T after 28 years of service in December, 2007.

Responsible for RF Planning and standards, switch planning, transport planning, interconnection, traffic engineering, translations, equipment engineering, project management, capital budget, and automation for the 7 state southeastern region. Led Regional effort to implement standardization of work flows and a common tool (Eftia) in an environment where states had previously operated separately. Drove the GSM overlay of regional TDMA networks ("Project Genesis"). Also drove Nortel E3BSC upgrade program. Territory included 7 states and Puerto Rico, staff size excedded 150.

Responsible for the network operations leadership for all BellSouth Cellular's wireless properties in addition to engineering and PMO. Developed comprehensive Network Operations Center (NOC) and field operations processes. Drove "Project Omaha", to modernize all Nortel S4000 BTSs to S8000 base stations. Also helped negotiate Crown Castle Built To Suit and tower collation deal, generating over $300M of revenue for BellSouth. Managed staff of approximately 40 employees during this time.

Was member of successful PCS spectrum bidding team in 1993 - 94, later responsible for network planning, equipment engineering, budgets, subscriber equipment for this start up subsidiary of BellSouth. Literally built staff from scratch to launch one of the first GSM networks in the USA (July, 1996). Drove planning and implementation of Core, BSC, HLR, Services Platforms, backhaul, and interconnections pieces of that network. In March, 1997 took on 7 x 24 NOC and real estate/cellsite collocation responibilities as well.

From 1979 - 1986 held developmental assignments in switch engineering, switch planning, and marketing support for Southern Bell in Charlotte, NC. From 1986 - 1989 managed dial planning group responsibile for all wire centers in the state of Georgia.
