Also participated in and coordinated Standards activities in NFV, NGMN, ONF, IETF, and DMTF-Developed product/solution guiding documents related to (i) Software-Defined Data Center, and Virtualizing Network and Service Functions (https://www.zte.com.cn/global/about/magazine/zte-communications/2013/4), Dec. 2013, and (ii) Mobile Cloud (https://www.zte.com.cn/global/about/magazine/zte-communications/2012/3), Sept. 2012, and published these in ZTE Communications journal-Initiated and led a series of BoFs in IETF -- beginning from the one during IETF-77 at Anaheim, CA, USA (March 2010) -- for developing RFCs related to Cloud Computing, Networking, and Services (http://trac.tools.ietf.org/area/app/trac/wiki/Clouds). This resulted in the creation of a handful of relevant Working Groups (WGs) and Research Groups (RGs) in IETF/IRTF. Developed drafts on assessing the Impact of (i) Virtualization and SDN on Emerging Network Coding, and (ii) Virtualization on Reliability using COTS Hardware. Verizon Corporate Technology (NGN Technology, Services, and Standardization, http://turing.acm.org/~bhumip/pub.html): • Led Verizon’s SIP-based VoIP peering technical trials with multiple (Domestic and International) voice service providers for Enterprise and Wholesale markets. • Led ATIS NG-CI Ad-Hoc FG to create near-term and long-term work items. Subsequently founded and Chaired the ATIS PTSC NG-CI Task Force.• Successfully directed the design and demonstration of evolution of Appliance based SBG / C to Infrastructure element (Router, IP-TDM gateway, etc.) based SBG / C functions. This significantly saved capital and operational expenses; approximately 30-70% saving depending upon configuration, to support network border features / function for emerging voice and multi-media services.• Founded and Chaired MultiService Forum’s (MSF's) IPTV Task Force and pioneered World’s first IMS-IPTV Interoperability during MSF's GMI-2008 (http://www.msforum.org/interoperability/02-MGS81044-MFS_Whitepaper.pdf ).
