    Role focused on managing programs and developing strategic priorities for the City's growing workforce development practice. In this role I staffed the City's Job Creation and Retention Trust, the public body that manages "jobs linkage" fees. Through the Trust, the City collected over $1.36 million in fees in 2019 and distributed over $850,000 to workforce training, digital literacy, and worker-centered job quality programs in 2020. I also oversaw the City's first strategic planning process for workforce development and grew programming offerings from a single program with a $50,000 budget to 12 programs with a $275,000 total general funds budget.In addition, I acted as liaison to innovation economy businesses within Somerville, specifically hardware and biotechnology startups.

    Responsibilities included collaborating with business groups such the Chamber of Commerce and working on a cooperative basis with the other divisions (Planning, Transportation, Housing and Inspectional Services) that comprise the Mayor's Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development. During this time I managed the City's Brownfield redevelopment grant program which included finalizing a $3 million cleanup grant in Union Square and managing seven phase I and II assessments on private property in Somerville. In addition I served as OSPCD liaison to the Assembly Row developer and assisted with permitting and coordination.

    Planned, managed, and scaled seven annual signature events including a 28-week farmers market with over 40 vendors, up to 3,000 attendees weekly, and which injected over $2.5 million annually into the local economy. In addition I managed operations, communications, and administration for RVMS including weekly newsletter and social media presence, P&L responsibilities, and annual reporting. I also oversaw annual fundraising appeals in 2013 and 2014 which raised over $30,000 each year.

I managed over 30 family farms and small food businesses in the heart of the City, enforcing market regulations, providing assistance to vendors and customers to provide a unique shopping experience.Other responsibilities included working with the City of Boston Inspectional Services Department and Parks and Recreation Department in permitting and licensing, working with market sponsors, and managing EBT program for market shoppers.
