    In Year 5, working with a team of peer Master students using Python programming language, to create a global site selection tool that LettUs Grow can use to effectively expand their business The tool will enable LettUs Grow to input a range of variables including the location and size of the farm and the programme will determine its commercial feasibility, as well as provide information on the optimal infrastructure necessary.In Year 4, completed a feasibility study into the application of powering vertical farms with an onsite islanded microgrid utilising by renewable energy technologies, in comparison to Grid connected farms. Investigated the impact of farms with different scales and locations. The aim was to create self-sufficient farms that had reduced lifetime energy costs. This work required me to become self-taught in HOMER - a software used to optimise microgrid architectures for various locations and climates.

    Re-designed a turbine blade for the low pressure compressor on a demonstration engine, with the objective to increase the component's strength. Using Computer Aided Design software NX, the project additionally required carrying out Finite Element Analysis on the component. I also undertook a research project looking into the feasibility of using composites for various components that are subject to high stress and temperatures.
