Travelling on a J-1 visa sponsored by InterExchange, I spent a second memorable summer working in outdoor activity leadership at Camp Highlander. Travelling on a J-1 visa sponsored by InterExchange, I spent a second memorable summer working in outdoor activity leadership at Camp Highlander.

Having graduated from university, I was looking to spend my summer doing something exciting and adventurous. I spent an extremely rewarding and memorable 9 weeks working at Camp Highlander; a traditional, co-ed sleep-away camp nestled deep in the mountains & forests of Western North Carolina. I led my own cabins of campers aged 9-16, and assisted staff in leading in a number of sports/outdoor activities throughout the course of the summer. A successful first internship led to another two weeks with the Brand Communication department at Ted Baker. This time round, we worked to better the online presence of the brand, with a specific focus on where other large fashion brands advertise newly released products. For two weeks, I worked closely with the junior and senior Brand Marketing Executives in the Ted Baker head office in London. Focusing on market research, event planning, marketing campaign management and competitor analysis, this experience complimented my university course well.
