Main activities carried out during this period:* May 1986 to October 1987, Benin: Resident Eng., Team leader for the preparation of Niger river Valley irrigation and integrated agricultural development master plan (30,000 ha) and the feasibility study of a pilot irrigation scheme (2,000ha). Funding agency : Islamic development Bank (IsDB);* November 1987 to December 1991, Tunis headquarter: Design eng. (Rural and agricultural development, water ressources management, irrigation, NRM, watershed development/management ...); Shot term missions (Tunisia, France, Burkina Faso);* January to september 1992, Lome, TOGO: Resident Eng. cordinator of the implementation of six irrigation and water supply studies in différents régions of the country; Funding: KFAED (koweit Development Fund);* 1993 to 1995 (20 months), Tunisia, Bizerte Region: field Irrigation technical assistant in charge of the orgnization of the operation of three recently rehabilitated irrigation schèmes (Ras Jebel, Aousja-Zouaouine-Ghar El Melh and Utique-Henchir Tobias). Optimization of the operation & maintenance and organization of participative irrigation groups which allowed the creation of 5 Water users associations;* 1996 to 1998 (36 months), Guinea, Beyla and Kérouané district: Resident Eng. in Beyla and Team leader of a technical assistance mission for the implmentation of PRODABEK project (Rural development project of Beyla and Kérouané Districts). Funding agencies : AfDB and IsDB;* 1999 to 2001, Tunisia, MINAGRI/DGGREE : Team leader of a TA mission for the support/coaching of Water Users Associations (about 2,500 WUAs supported as well 23 local Water steering commitees in all regions of Tunisia);* 2001 to 2002, Tunisia : Team leader of a TA mission for the irrigation management transfer of a new implemented irrigation scheme of 3,200ha in Jendouba (North west). 5 WUAs were established, trained and supported.
