    My role at the Engineering Services Unit had the following scope and objectives:To provide independent, specialized, technical engineering advisory services to support City project managers and supply chain practitioners in key design, specification, contract and risk management considerations.To provide independent monitoring and evaluation services on projects at any stage of the project life cycle to validate alignment towards improved engineering-, quality- and contract management. The service includes technical input, review of documentation, lessons learned capturing (knowledge Management) and guidance on the use of the knowledge gained to adapt and improve future projects.To serve as a Centre of Excellence for certain key engineering knowledge areas and provide, enable and facilitate development of standards, processes, templates and guidelines, engineering focused communities of practice and knowledge sharing forums. To provide mentoring services to young Engineers.Part of these responsibilities include assisting with disputes, construction contract analysis, contingency authorization and policy development.
