Front Desk Receptionist (Smith School)
-
Jun 2017 - Aug 2020
As the front desk receptionist, I am the gatekeeper for all students and employers entering the suite. I help employers fix any day of logistical issues, and help students check-in and find their interview room on time. I also answer any and all student questions about interviews, our job portal, Hiresmith, or any other matter related to full time and internship employment via email or phone. This position has allowed me to exponentially grow my customer service and problem-solving skills and will serve me well when interfacing with clients/customers in future roles.

Maryland Images Tour Guide
-
Sep 2016 - Aug 2020
In my three years as a volunteer campus tour guide, I have given 40+ tours to hundreds of prospective students and their families. I recognize that the college search process can be lengthy and stressful, and I do my best to answer any hard questions while giving these students an authentic and accurate look into campus life at the University of Maryland. I also have had the pleasure of completing five "Terp-for-a-Day" programs, in which I was paired one-on-one with a high school senior who has similar interests to me. The program was one of the main reasons I decided to come to Maryland and I enjoy providing a similar experience to other students. This position had increased my capacity to operate in difficult situations and adapt to new environments, as each tour group brings its own set of unique and often hard to answer questions and experiences.

Education Abroad Peer Mentor
-
Aug 2019 - Dec 2019
As an Education Abroad peer my role was to ease student concerns about studying abroad and help students from all different backgrounds accomplish their study abroad goals. I assisted the Education Abroad staff members in all operational aspects of the study abroad process including data entry, research, marketing/outreach, and process improvement. I led 10+ presentations on the misconceptions of study abroad to varied audiences such as freshman and transfer students, and spearheaded a video outreach program in which study abroad alumni are interviewed on their return to campus. The role has greatly helped me improve my outreach and presentation skills and has also allowed me to understand the importance of using efficient internal processes to achieve more powerful external results.

Over the course of the summer, I worked on a Kanban transformation engagement for a large insurance client. I worked on a team of six to help coach six Kanban teams to Agile 3.0 maturity standards, led research on Portfolio for JIRA, and executed numerous client presentations and deliverables. From this experience, I learned how to operate on a small, fast-paced team and how to adapt and sometimes push back when a client's needs shift.

UI Design and Product Management Intern

Although my official title was UI Design and Product Management Intern, I often found myself completing projects in whatever area of the company had an immediate need. Over the course of the summer, some of my tasks included developing a social media campaign for a high-value European client to help market their product to disengaged customers, integrating an inside sales pipeline into Salesforce to help increase lead generations, and performing usability testing on development sites to create a more positive user experience. My time at Mytonomy showed me the power of a small team and how it is often necessary to step into many different roles to ensure overall company success.

I helped the executive team in their digital transformation of the firm by creating an online database of 120 personal files to ensure the these files can be used in future human resources functions. I also created an online database of 130 terminated files to ensure proper record-keeping for the firm. In my time as a human resources intern, I learned the importance of being detail-orientation and how a digital transformation of a firm can help create a more efficient and impactful operation.
