As a Biomedical Science student I gained a lot of knowledge in many areas, abilities to understand, statistically analyse and communicate scientifically in a variety of fields. I am now very familiar with medical terminology and due to problems in my own immune system I have extensive background knowledge in Immunology and Pharmacology. My course allowed me to develop my confidence when speaking about and presenting research, I believe I now am able to speak more freely and thus giving me motivation to possibly further my education in the future, to pursue and develop my career in the Medical/Clinical industry.

I completed my foundation to health sciences and first year of my biomedical sciences degree at this institution. During my time spent in Cardiff I had the pleasure of experiencing new teaching methods, different vibrant lifestyles and the culture the city has to offer. The time spent away from home I gained independence while managing full time education and a part time job. After completing my first year of my degree successfully I had the opportunity to transfer my credits and move back to London.

Working for the food industry was a fantastic opportunity to achieve a high level of health and safety skills which is beneficial in any work environment and also really helped me to gain very good time management skills as I had my studies to also prioritise. My main duties in this role included assisting and serving customers effective and efficiently in an extremely fast paced environment due to the location of the restaurant. To work well as a team and individually to achieve specific targets everyday to reach our quota, and provide the best customer service to ensure the integrity of the establishment is never impaired. Due to the till system changing on a quarterly basis I am competent in learning quickly and adapting.
