Research Associate in Experimental Therapeutic Centre (ETC). Major responsibility in setting up the Singapore Screening Centre which houses an all-in-one drug screening platform in ETC. This platform deploys the use of a spectrum of state-of-the-art automation technologies to carry out High Throughput Screening (HTS) campaigns for A*STAR’s ETC collaborative drug discovery projects.As part of the HTS group, develop workflow procedures for compound handling using robotic equipment, which conform to ISO17025 and GLP standardsIn charge of managing HTS compound management workflows which make use of industry-standard IT solutions for sample tracking LIMS database (Titian Mosaic), screen/data management software (IDBS Activity Base) and visualization tools (Spotfire)Experience with automated robotic liquid handling platforms specifically built for the workflows/processes at HTS. Platforms include Agilent’s dual Biocel 1200 integrated system with Direct Drive Robots (DDR) for plate handling and various liquid handlers with microliter (Velocity 11’s Vprep and Bravo) or nanoliter (Labcyte Echo Acoustic Dispenser) dispensing capabilities. Provide support for other research groups/collaborators that require access to the Centre’s compound collections which are stored in a fully automated Nexus Universal Store. Work effectively as a team with HTS group members and other research groups within ETC to ensure the smooth integration and operation of the new facility into the ETC’s drug discovery workflowImplement continuous process improvement initiatives to maintain quality of drug compounds and equipment systems. Hands on involvement in research/project work involving HTS. Provide assistance for collaborative work with Curiox Biosystems to develop their drop array plate technology in drug discovery using HTS. Ability to solve specific research or technical problems with minimal supervision.
