    I started my career with Chili's as a hostess and after 8 months had been moved up to a bartender. I quickly learned all positions and eventually became a trainer. I traveled around the country, and to two other countries training employees. I was a bar leader, responsible for the setup and organization of the entire bar area, including the ordering. Worked with managers as well as employees on best practices and skill. I taught classes on the food and the drinks, and was able to lead not just the employees but other trainers through the opening process. I later realized that my leadership skills, teaching, speaking in front of people, sense of urgency and ability to multi-task have all been an incredible asset working in television.

    During the summer of 2009 I interned at WJHL while I finished my senior year. I worked exclusively with Chiefl Meteorologist Mark Reynolds. He showed me his routine on forecasting, but also had me doing plenty of hands on work, and not just observing. I updated their phone line, built graphics on WSI Tru Vue and briefly was familiarized with Baron Vipir. I also was allowed to update their 24/7 weather channel for broadcast.
