As the Tax Operations Team leader, my primary function is to support my team in performing their daily tasks with the main targeted result to produce yearly tax statements for 250,000 clients within agreed SLAs. A secondary function of the role is taking ownership of risk and client queries (both internal and external) through QC of various daily tasks completion; monitoring data integrity from in-house tools, GBST Shares and external platform(s) and investigating root causes for issues. Other ad-hoc tasks are liaising with external vendors as appropriate to escalate problems, assist in finding ways to improve processes, minimising manual processing which lowering the risk of human errors and perform analysis of Corporate Actions to assist in the optimal processing of such events and coordinate remediation and resolution steps with the business for issues and incidents resulting in client complaints.

Electronic Data Transfer (EDT) encompasses manipulating files received into a format that is readable by the system. It entails creating XML, using excel formula and macros to upload the file into the database system. After successful uploading, each file transfer has to be check for data accuracy to ensure correct information flow. The file then has to be registered into EDT database when admin team can allocate the data to intended recipients. Target is to upload 30 files/day with 3 self-QA and 3 Cross-QA. If file is in a different format then previous ones, it needs to be investigated before uploading. Daily file upload list is being maintain by each user in excel spreadsheet for easy monitoring.
