    I began my role at Cornwall College as Instructor for the Level 3 Photography course. I then progressed to become the Instructor for the Level 3 Media course as well. I found a passion for teaching through this role and decided to complete my PGCE part time whilst working.Whilst studying my PGCE, I become a module lead for the Level 3 Photography course. I was heavily involved with the curation all the modules, tasks, and assessment for this course.I have also had the chance to teach at an HE level on our FDA Photography course. This has been particularly enjoyable as the students are generally more mature and already have a reasonable level of knowledge that they wish to advance. I have also enjoyed being able to teach more advanced techniques and deeper critical thinking.

    I have worked as a freelance commercial, social and portrait photographer for the last ten years. You can find my online portfolio at www.ashleyhampson.com. I pride myself on delivering natural, creative and contemporary photography. To achieve this, I have to be polite, friendly, sociable, entertaining and confident with the general public. During the lockdown, I undertook several documentary projects, including a charity driven portrait project that raised over two thousand pounds for our local hospital. Since 2020, I have focused my work on landscape and astro photography which has given me significant growth through social media. I now have an online shop that regularly sells prints, cards, NFTs and other products. I also run individual tuition and group workshops relating to landscape and astro photography in Cornwall.
