I have developed this 6 months project to take profit of my Swiss civil obligations and benefit from a clinical experience. This project consists in studying the effect of several operating protocols on the reconstruction of the medial posterior meniscal root tear of the knee. This project required to develop an experimental platform from scratch that is currently estimated to a value of 70'000 CHF. It combines RSA (Roentgen Stereophotogrammetric Analysis) with a lightweight and flexible knee testing jig to measure meniscal deformations in cadaver samples. The platform has been validated and the pilot investigation suggested that proper trans-tibial reconstruction of the medial posterior meniscus root avulsion depended on suture tension .
