    Formula SAE competition has been set up for University students around the world to get practical experience in addition to their theoretical studies. MUR 2016 (Melbourne University Racing) is the team consists of smart, talented and professional Melbourne University students who are passionate to work on Cars. Being a member of the chassis team was an opportunity to improve my knowledge in many areas such as Carbon fiber, car structure, and CAD programs. Initiatives:- Modifying a Space Frame Chassis with Carbon Monocoque. - Make use of Solidworks for design.- Analyzing and testing the chassis by FEA tools like ANSYS to find defects and unreliable parts.- Participating in CNC classes to learn how to work with CNC machines.- Do research to find the best manufacturing method.Achievements: - Improve the strength and torsional stiffness of the chassis (By utilizing Carbon Fiber, it has resulted of torsional stiffness of 1833 Nm/degree)- Achieve major improvements for the Chassis weight (Reduced the weight by approximately 30 Kg compare to the previous models) - Manufacturing the chassis and parts by using CNC machines and resources. - Helping the team and achieving better results by investing time and becoming professional in CAD and FEA programs to reduce the overall time spent on design activities.
