    Mozambican Community Resilience Program, called Tuko Pamoja - a USAID/OTI funded program operating in Cabo Delgado and Nampula provinces of Mozambique that aims to strengthen the resilience of communities affected violent extremism (VE). Advise USAID/OTI and SMT on the evolving local political, economic, and social situation in Mozambique and critically assess the country's evolving situation to identify threats to US foreign policy interests and stability in the region, specifically as it relates to the violent extremism threat from ISIS Mozambique. Over the last 16 months I have programmed almost $2 million USD in small grants programs in Cabo Delgado province, focusing on the most affected areas of Northern Coastal Cabo Delgado, where the conflict is currently active.

    In over 3 years, I have supported the creation and strengthening of over 200 national CSOs and management of projects and funds of over $5 million USD in small grants. I coordinated the development of organizational capacity and intervention of different types of Civil Society Organizations at national level. Responsible for training organizations in various governance monitoring and advocacy tools, including government functioning, participatory planning and budgeting, accountability from community assessment cards and social audits. Supported the design of advocacy projects, economic policy analysis or baseline studies, stakeholder mapping, monitoring and evaluation of activities and fund management. This support also included an improvement in the dialogue between communities and local leaders and fundamentally supported organizations in the implementation of their governance and local development projects.

    Represented by Prof. PhD and Researcher Pedro Camarinha Vicente and his team, the Center for the Study of African Economics at the University of Oxford, carried out in Mozambique, in the 2009 election year, the Research on Analysis of the Quality of Democracy in Mozambique. I participated in this study as an inquisitor and later field supervisor of an interviewing team that collected door-to-door information in Maputo province about citizens' perceptions of democracy in Mozambique.
