    I decided to take up the entrepreneurial challenge in 2012 and started Bigredweb.co.za. Bigredweb focuses on the design and custom styling of the WordPress CMS. WordPress is a great launch pad for any business looking to get onto the web. This open source CMS is flexible, easy to use and even easier on the pocket. My personal design ethos is "Less is more". Over complicate, and you lose the message, it's that simple. This subtly "Zen-like' approach defines the work I like to do, emphasising clean, crisp websites that promote functionality. Achieving simplicity ... is harder than it looks :)

    Employed as a front-end web designer but my responsibilities were significantly increased since the first year. Lilo offers a full range of web design and development services. Lilo’s customer base is primarily from the UK and Europe but I have also worked with clients from South Africa and Australia.As a senior front-end designer I have been involved in a number of projects. I have worked closely with fellow designers and developers on projects ranging from simple brochure sites to Ecommerce and CMS implementations (both bespoke and open source).Part of my responsibilities have been specifically design related. I have taken design briefs and liaised with clients on their specific requirements while guiding the advancement of the project with insight on best practice.As a senior member of staff my responsibilities included the management and guidance of the design team. My management responsibilities include: - To mentor and guide junior designers.- Ensuring work flow is maintained.- Monitoring work and liaising with a freelance designer.- Contacting clients and ensuring both new and current requirements are being met.
