Accounting/Payroll Clerk

Feb 1985 - Jun 1990
Maintained HMO insurance Accounts responsible for employee and company accounts payables & receivables for 21,000 employees in 15 countries. Paying out $7million a month. In order to do this efficiently and without error, I Developed an Accounting Matrix used to: 1) Ensure proper debit of employee's checks concerning their particular HMO payment, which included the following rate categories (single, married, family; then three different amounts for workers in the three different hourly unions, then a different amount for the two salary types: exempt and nonexempt employees). 2) To ensure proper credit to the 21 HMO companies, each had their own amounts for each of the above categories, which also had to figure in what state and country the employee was in, because those factors also played a part in the cost. The matrix had a large number of possibilities. This matrix was reviewed, updated and tested every year prior to open enrollment.
