    I am a Project Manager for Urban Self Storage, a Seattle based company. My current assignment since March 2007 has been at Nalley Valley Heated Storage and U-HAUL, where I am responsible for the overall operation of the 719 Unit Storage Facility. I act as a customer service representative, attending to the needs of rental customers. Duties include leasing storage units, marketing the facility to the community, collecting current and past-due bills, banking, bookkeeping, data entry, filing and performing light maintenance of the property. I am also an agent for U-HAUL Truck Rentals. I have excellent communications skills, both written and oral, a pleasant and helpful telephone manner and good customer service skills. I have a friendly, "take-charge" and "get-it-done" attitude and the ability to network, using social media skills, which is essential to building the business in today's society.

    I was in charge of a franchised market area extending from the Canadian border in Washington State all the way to The California border in Oregon. I had over 23 locations in Washington and Oregon and acted as a liaison between the franchised owners and Big O Corporate. I also stressed the importance to the franchisees of purchasing new products and featuring the "Big O" brand tires as an asset to increasing profitability.I considered myself a trainer, troubleshooter, marketer and problem solver. I walked a fine line between the franchisee and the company and had to keep a perfect balance so that everyone worked together increasing business and profits for all concerned.

    I started with Hertz Local Edition Car Rental as an location manager in Coral Springs, Florida, overlooking a main location and two satellite locations. I was promoted to City Manager in a brand new area that had no local edition offices. This area was on the southwest coast of Florida starting in Naples/Marco Island and extending up the coast all the way to Bradenton/Sarasota. The only open locations for Hertz in that entire area, included Naples Airport, Fort Myers Airport and Sarasota/Bradenton Airport.I opened 12 offices in six months, which included finding the locations, negotiating leases, ordering fixtures and furniture, overseeing the contracted build-outs, signage and zoning issues and then finally opening the offices, including hiring the Manager, Assistant Manager and Shift Managers for all 12 offices. I also trained and assisted the staff in building business for all of the offices.This was one of the most challenging positions that I ever had in my life and I enjoyed every aspect and every minute of building this area. All 12 locations that I opened are still open today (in 2018), still profiting and building the local car rental end of the business.
