Responsible for ensuring that HSE Plans related to projects that have been awarded or tendering on is drafted and sent for approval. Where changes are needed to be made to the IMS, it was done with the QAQC Team to ensure compliance. Did the necessary preparatory work that needs to be done to in order to complete HAZID, ENVID and OHRA Workshop with our Clients that we worked with. I was also part of the HSE Champions project for the betterment of Contractor Staff that work in the remote sites for GASCO. This involved the visiting of facilities and preparing a GAP analysis of findings with proposed standards that are to be implemented. The findings were compiled and presented to the attendees of the GASCO Partners HSE Seminar, December 2015.     In this time I completed Voluntary National service under the first intake of volunteer national servicemen since the compulsory national service was abolished in 1993. I completed this during the handover to the transitional government when South Africa went over into democracy. I was selected to complete Junior Officers Formative course and completed this and the Military Instructors Training program. I was then seconded to the training squadrons where we were given the first batch of integration soldier from the freedom fighter legions, which we had to train in the art of soldiery according to standards laid down by the South African Defence Force. I was in the last couple of years sent out to an operational unit called Eastern Province Command Workshop where I worked as an Assistant planning Officer and was responsible for the planning of maintenance of the military for the Eastern Province Command HQ. I was later put into the capacity of Unit Adjutant whose responsibility included the Military Legal aspect of the unit and the staff therein.Achievements:•Implemented a streamlined method of dealing with civilian repair companies ensuring that the quality of the work was up to the standards that was required of these contractors.•Was involved in the retraining programs of the Workshop staff and was given the mandate to ensure that training was done to the highest standards.•I successfully completed the Firing Range Safety Officers course and was responsible in conjunction with the armoury and the gunsmiths to arrange the needed resources to conduct the monthly training shoot and then to oversee the safety aspects of this shoot to ensure that no accidents happened. This planning phase included risk assessments and the use of procedures to ensure that these trainings happened with safety in mind.
