I lecture on the Biology of Bees to beginner and intermediate level beekeepers.I teach practical beekeeping techniques to beginners.I help run the Beekeeping stand at the Taunton Flower. In 2012 and 2018 I was an invited speaker in the main floral tent and spoke on bees and other pollinators.I have given a number of interviews on local radio.I have given talks to the Rotary Club and other local groups.I organised a stand at the Taunton Sustainability Show in 2011 and helped organise it in 2012, 2013 and 2014.

My role was to monitor the status of wildlife on our reserves and feed back into the management undertaken to conserve wildlife. In 2014 I surveyed 7 reserves to assess botanical diversity. In 2015, we monitored 5 reserves including ditch surveys on one of our wetland sites.In 2016 I created a priority grassland targeting map for our B-Lines project and carried out monitoring on 5 reserves. We are currently in the process of mapping all the Ancient / Veteran / Notable trees on our sites.I use GIS regularly and manage the Trusts geographical data.

Worked on implementing Water Level Management Plans on the Somerset Levels. The ultimate aim being to bring 11 SSSIs into Favourable Condition. Wrote the organisations Biodiversity Action Plan.Use of ArcGIS to produce project maps including the manipulation of LiDAR data to show potential water levels.Member of the Somerset Biodiversity Partnership and the Somerset Levels Monitoring Group.Worked with partners in Natural England, the Environment Agency, local NGOs, other Drainage Boards and local landowners.Protected species surveys, mainly water vole, badgers, otters and plants.I gave a talk on the Somerset Levels to a local group in November 2011.

Mapped habitats in the Mendips region of Somerset, the Mendips AONB and the Blackdowns AONB (Nerohe project) using Aerial Photograph Interpretation, GIS and the Integrated Habitat System.Designed mapping / survey protocols, carried out botanical surveys and bat surveys (transects).Carried out mapping of rights of way in Somerset.Training included botanical ID, habitat mapping, water vole, badger, otter, bat, crayfish, butterfly and oil beetle surveys.
