    I joined the small design team of a company which has now become a market leader in retail design and manufacturing. I was instrumental in helping to grow the largest account for New Store Europe (NSE) as well as setting up another account, in the recession, which has grown to be one of their largest.I am a key figure in their design team as the creative team leader, now responsible for the creative side of the business with 8 designers reporting to me across two sites; Harlow and LeicesterWith a background in cosmetics I have helped to move NSE into this area, having taken the account from one brand to four, and now with 5 designers constantly working on these projectsProject management and team leadership skills allow me to empower my team to work on multiple large scale projects from design right through to prototyping and store trials.

    Joining a five strong design team of a market leader in international design and manufacturing, working on some of the biggest brands, retailers and cosmetic companies was a great experience in my career.Brought in as the senior designer in the creative department working on both bespoke projects as well as the standard equipment, I was able to act as a link between both creative and technical ensuring a smoother transition for projects.With a more client facing role I was able to take the brief directly, allowing me to gain a better understanding of their requirements as well a being able to offer them solutions on the spot to gauge interest. Through this experience I have been able to gain great business relationships with both clients and suppliers alike.

    Working alongside the design manager as the only other designer I was able to learn all aspects of the business from taking briefs, to sketching and visualising my solutions to technical drawings and prototypes.Benchmark's in house prototyping facilities was a great advantage to me, allowing me to gain experience from the prototyping staff in metal, wood and plastics. Also being able to see my designs passing through the factory helped with my understanding of manufacturing.I was the initial designer that brought the skills of 3D CAD visuals to Benchmark helping to increase their offer to their clients
