Launched a medical note generating company with 2 clinical doctors. Engaged in multiple mentorship meetings with a bio-focused VC, pitched to potential investors, and built a functional web based MVP.Junior doctors spend ~15 hours/week writing discharge notes that summarise a patient's stay in hospital - these notes are often incomplete and are rarely understandable by patients themselves. We aimed to reduce their writing time by 10x. We did so in our MVP using LLMs to extract key information from existing notes, allowing the doctor to refine, and then generating a finalised summary + explanation in patient understandable language from the same information.Ultimate aim was to flywheel off this initial feature offering to leverage a huge, previously untouched dataset of patient symptoms, treatments, and outcomes from qualitative data hidden in medical notes.
