I work with GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) which is a federal grant. This partnership restructures school services to provide a knowledge pipeline to postsecondary success for traditionally underrepresented youth. • I lead the Region One ESC Financial Literacy Initiative and partner with the DSTLFA. We provide financial education to students, parents, and educators in 8 counties. I have expanded the DSTFLA to include members from Webb, Cameron, and Hidalgo counties. The DSTFLA meets five times a year to plan events such as:• The Millionaire’s Club – This webinar series is a real-life simulation in which students choose a career path and salary, set aside money to “pay yourself first”, and create an adult’s budget. The students showcase their work in a project that is submitted to the Millionaire’s Club Competition for judging. In 2021, 925 students participated.• Moolah Palooza Educator Fest – This is a K-12 financial literacy educator conference that provides curriculum and information on personal financial literacy. The 2020 conference was held virtually and attended by 124 educators.• Financial Literacy Summit – This is an annual conference for students. In 2019, four Summits were held serving 1,300 students. Included were keynote speakers, hands on activities in breakout sessions, and students interaction with DSTLFA members in an exhibit hall.• I supervise an academic coaching platform in partnership with qannection.com. This includes planning the rollout, hosting training, and supervising the student data. Ongoing support includes monitoring usage reports and analyzing continuing academic support needs.• I co-lead an initiative that develops the social emotional capacity of students in partnership with ACT. I develop the rollout plan to test the students on ACT Mosaic, then plan professional development workshops, and monitor student interventions through analysis of Mosaic reports.
