Oversaw migration from Brainstorm’s in-house customer-support and billing databases, which I had developed, into RCN’s existing Oracle-based billing system. As regional director of a corporate department, was accountable to two senior vice presidents with very different concerns: The VP of West Coast Operations (concerned with achieving aggressive growth objectives), and the corporate VP of Information Technology (concerned with providing cost-effective service nation-wide). Served both loyally, planning, communicating, mediating and problem solving. Marshaled corporate resources in support of region and implemented corporate IT endeavors at regional level. Oversaw regional Y2K preparation.

    Co-founded innovative San Francisco Bay Area Internet Service Provider. Brainstorm Networks developed two solutions that addressed the then unmet demand of small businesses for affordable, always-on, high-speed internet access. First, we introduced Centrex ISDN internet access, which provided a flat-rate 128 kbps always-on connection that offered a middle ground between the dial-up 28.8 kbps connections and the far more expensive T1 connections that were available at the time. Three years later we partnered with Nortel Communications to introduce DSL internet access, which now rivaled T1 performance, still at a fraction of the price. In 1999, RCN corporation, a Princeton NJ based cable provider purchased Brainstorm Networks as part of its West Coast expansion, with the vision of providing Internet Access, telephone service and television all via cable to homes and businesses. This represented another breakthrough in performance and value, which we now take for granted, but which at the dawn of the new millennium was still undergoing birthing pains.I was primarily responsible for sales and marketing, as well as IT for Brainstorm, as we grew from two to 26 people and 2500 business customers over the course of five years.
