    During the year of 2007, I created a web app to help students with course management and homework collaboration. In September of 2008 I released it to the public as I saw the potential for it to become a useful tool for students around the world. It quickly gained in popularity and was featured in several blogs including Mashable and Lifehacker.In March of 2010 I decided to incorporate in the state of Washington and introduced a paid plan which offered additional features for a small monthly fee. Soshiku was a great learning opportunity for running a business, handling finances, and full-stack web development.

    My first real-world experience of working in a fast paced startup involved helping maintain and add customer facing features to the company’s web app. This internship allowed me to improve many skills such as software engineering in a work environment, communication, and collaboration by working with a small but fast-paced team. This internship also introduced me to agile methodologies which I still practice today.
