Global Fundraising Director
-
Jan 2014 - Oct 2014
In addition to continuing to grow Tearfund's giving base in the UK, recognising an increasing global opportunity, I led the development of a global fundraising strategy; with new fundraising operations developed in Brazil, and exploratory operations developed in India. In the UK I led the launch of a new brand, and a new fundraising campaign which recruited 1,000 new regular givers within its first month.

UK Director
-
May 2011 - Jan 2014
I was responsible for all of Tearfund's marketing and fundraising the UK.I led the development of a simpler, more focused fundraising and communication strategy based on a new segmented marketing strategy for the UK audience. We then used this to build a refreshed brand based on a better understanding of the audience; including a new online presence.By building stronger relationships between teams, and clearer focus on the results we needed to achieve, I created a culture of innovation and teamwork which led to the development of successful campaigns including a new funding stream for a global network of Self Help Groups; and engagement with the multi-agency IF campaign to generate 64,137 campaign actions from Tearfund supporters. As a consequence of this, we grew our regular donor base to it's highest levels in the organisations history, and grew overall income from the UK market year on year.I also provided advice to the Integral Alliance, a global network of NGOs, on communications, marketing and fundraising.

UK Operations Director
-
Oct 2004 - May 2011
I restructured Tearfund's regional work in the UK & Ireland to reduce fundraising costs and increased efficiency; I ran this as a participative change process which meant that difficult changes were possible with the support of staff and the Board.I mobilised volunteer and supporter activity for Tearfund's involved in the Make Poverty History campaign; generating more than 90,000 responses to the campaign.I managed the regional communications for major disasters, including the Haiti Earthquake (£6m raised) and the Asian Tsunami (>£20m raised)I led the development of a profitable outbound calling team.
