As Senior Software Tester for Corvid-Paygate I am responsible for planning and implementing the functional and non-functional testing of their fat, thin and web client based payment applications. This includes proving the interfaces and responses from BACS, Faster payments and the management of Direct Debit instructions via AUDDIS, and ensuring the tools exist and function well to allow ADACS and ARUDD responses to be reconciled.My role includes creation and execution of test plans using Test Rail and specification of the company's Test Strategy and test environments. I have complete ownership of the defect management process, and work directly with the development team and support to improve the functionality, reliability and usability of their software as well as ensuring compliance with the rules and guidelines for BACs and direct debit processing.Within my role in Corvid-Paygate, I am working to improve the use of Atlassian Cloud (JIRA) within the organisation and to introduce automated testing using LoadRunner.

Following re-assignment within Tesco I took on the role of Quality Evaluation Systems Manager. Within this I supported 60+ panel facilitators and analysts in the Quality Assessment Centre in Cheshunt, and Product Assessment Centres in stores across the country.In addition to the Systems Manager I role I also oversaw the work of the Insight team, who give strategic direction to the product testing teams within the Quality Assessment Centre.In both of these roles I drew on my software development experience and extensive network of contacts and knowledge of Tesco, to ensure the Quality Evaluation systems were maintained and continued to develop, and that the monthly and individual quality test reports produced were accurate and timely.- Provided day to day technical support for the panel facilitators and analysts- Reviewed the existing quality evaluation systems, highlighting improvements in both the processes used and the applications themselves- Specified functional changes for both in-house and 3rd party developments- Worked to ensure changes meet the requirements, and landed successfully- Reviewed alternate quality systems to ensure our tools are best of breed- Documented and refined the Systems team's processes and procedures- Managed contract and permanent resource.

As Test Lead my role was to manage and facilitate the final acceptance testing for all new technology entering the store including; changes to existing applications, development of new technologies and end of life hardware replacement.I led a team of up to 8 software testers, and reported to the business owners and governance boards on the quality and limitations of each release, allowing an informed decision to be made about deployment. Over the last 6 years I have delivered testing for many projects including Tesco Fuel Save, and Tesco Price Promise.During my time as Test Lead I demonstrated the following on a daily basis;- Ability to understand the change and its effect, and to assess the type and level of testing necessary- Allocation of hard and soft resources, and provisioning the necessary environments to facilitate that testing.- Working with business teams, vendors, contractors, and outsourced test resources (India) to pull together end-2-end and integration testing.- Manage the hand-overs between test phases to ensure each change is fit to progress to the next stage.- Creation, implementation and review of test plans and test scenarios to ensure both functional and non-functional testing are performed with no regression of existing functionality- Defect management including triage and maintenance of the backlog using TFS (Team Foundation Server), ClearQuest and other defect trackers as require by the business.- Forecasting effort, cost and time-scales.- Building relationships with the stakeholders- Mentoring those on the Tesco apprentice scheme- Attendance of user story reviews/walk-throughs and daily scrumsBefore leaving this role I successfully completed a major transition piece lasting 6 months to bring software quality skills into each project cell and to hand over ownership of all test artifacts.
