    Hope Academy is a program for transitional adults with a serious mental illness who may or may not have a substance abuse disorder. In my internship I have accompanied social workers on their one on one case meeting and have also sat in classes taught by them. I have planned out a curriculum for a class about leadership and teamwork as well as organized the student programing board. In addition, I have worked on getting to know the students better and be of assistance with them on their objective phase that is part of their curriculum which is based on the approach in which participants set and achieve personal goals which will help them transition into an independent living, learning, working or social environment.
