    Project Concern International is a 50 year old US non profit working in 14 countries with a broad sustainable development portfolio. In a short period of time revamped the program to shift from a school feeding donation to a sustainable school feeding program, gaining national level attention for a national school feeding strategy. Restructured the program for improved efficiencies and increase results and innovations, shifted staff gender balance by 38% in new hires, restructured education portfolio to use data for increasing primary school literacy and utilize local organizations (private not for profit and public parastatals) as key implementers for a functioning system. Additionally, increased the annual portfolio to over USD$8M and bring on three new awards including a two year, $2M local commodity procurement program designed to increase regional agricultural output and embed primary school feeding in the regional system; and two new research grants of $3M+ from private foundations addressing early infant feeding and early childhood development with Harvard, Purdue and Africa Academy for Public Health.

Work closely with policy makers, donors and clinical leaders at national and global level to assess policy and clinical care guidelines and to support access to quality, affordable medicines and sustainability of the global ARV program as a whole. Identify new approaches and products to grow portfolio to 53 innovative ARV medicines. Visioned and spearheaded the FIRST generic ARV packaging plant in Africa. Initiated the company's engagement with the Africa Union medicines regulatory harmonization program.

Serving over 50,000 Tanzanians to date. Developed several program niches - integrating HIV programs into district health systems; a new national program for work with People Living With HIV/AIDS, especially HIV+ pregnant women, as implementers in service delivery; expanding pain management services; launch and national expansion of Early Infant HIV diagnosis to four zonal laboratories; TB HIV integration services and a recent innovative District Mentoring Initiative for clinicians in rural Tanzania. First HIV treatment center at health center level in Tanzania! Programmatic work supports comprehensive HIV/AIDS programs in 22 mainland districts, and on the isles of Zanzibar, covering over 380 PMTCT sites, 110 Care and Treatment sites; and grants with 52 entities including Districts, Regions, NGOs and FBOs. Additional program areas include HIV prevention and harm reduction for Injecting Drug Users and other risk persons in Zanzibar, and Male Circumcision for HIV prevention in Kagera.
