    Jobs varied day to day depending on shift and brew schedule. In general, tasks were completed depending on priority based on upcoming brews. These tasks included cleaning and sanitizing fermenters and brite tanks, dry hopping, transferring green beer, and kegging finished beer. Occasionally there were special projects that required barreling beer. On slower days I would volunteer to wash kegs on a two-keg semi-auto system.

    Acted as summer relief which included a wide range of tasks depending where help was needed most. Initial daily tasks included sweeping spilled grain, vacuuming dust, and analyzing grain moisture and soluble protein. Tasks later expanded to cleaning and sanitize steep tanks and germination beds. My position was then changed to loading trucks with 5,000 to 15,000 lbs of grain depending upon order.

    This was a Spring internship acting as an assistant brewer. Tasks included cleaning sanky and golden gate kegs; weighing out hops and grains; emptying the mash tun after brews; and some dry hopping. Involvement slowly increased in brewing on the 6-Barrel system by helping mash in, regulate temperatures, transfer between stages, and cleanup afterwards.
