    I am a task and field leader primarily contributing to groundwater and soil remedial investigations, while a few projects include groundwater supply and geo-technical investigations. Responsibilities include sub-contract administration, development of work plans, conceptual models, writing reports, and providing short term services on 'as needed' basis. Continuing from Malcolm Pirnie, Inc., specialist software such as GIS, visualization, logging, and contouring packages are used as part of my work. I conduct field work including installation of monitoring wells, slug and pumping tests, geologic and structural mapping, sampling of groundwater, soil, and fractured rock. I perform borehole, soil, sediment and rock core logging. Training of junior staff in various aspects of geology and hydrogeology are also part of my duties.

    While primarily I contributed to remedial investigations of groundwater, soil, and fractured rock, I also conducted groundwater supply investigations and tasks for geotechnical projects. I conducted cost estimates, wrote subcontracts, work-plans and reports. Groundwater supply projects included understanding regional and local geology - hydrogeology, together with installation of test and monitoring wells, performing slug tests, pumping tests and sampling of water supply and groundwater monitoring wells, and analyzing the acquired data. As a team member for geo-technical of karst related subsidence and tunnel leaks investigations, I performed structural geological mapping, oversaw geophysical and geotechnical boring sub-contractors, and conducted and trained staff on rock logging. Specialist software such as GIS, visualization, logging, and contouring packages were used as part of my work on all projects. Malcolm Pirnie is now part of ARCADIS-US.

    I was involved in exploration for and development of groundwater resources in Western Australia. I had oversight responsibilities for installation and testing of wells and aquifers for water supply and dewatering purposes. Coordination of drilling and geophysical crews was an important part of these projects. I performed borehole logging and operated some down-hole geophysical tools; the latter now performed by specialist geophysical contractors. I performed, analyzed and reported the results of testing, and as part of various teams, helped clients develop and manage groundwater resources.
